Application:

Common Phosphate Compounds Used: Trisodium Phosphate (TSP): Often used in boilers operating at or below 1000 psig (pounds per square inch gauge), TSP is relatively inexpensive and easy to monitor and control.
Disodium Phosphate: A common component in coordinated phosphate/pH control programs.
Sodium Phosphates: Used to maintain a slightly basic pH in the boiler feedwater system, typically in the range of 8.3-10.5.
Application: Phosphate treatments are typically applied to the boiler feedwater using a chemical feed pump, often controlled by a system that monitors the boiler's pH.
The dosage of phosphate is carefully controlled to maintain the desired levels in the boiler water.
Regular blowdown is essential to remove the suspended sludge and maintain water quality.
