  • Product Description
    • Commodity name: Acetylacetone peroxide

Acetyl acetone peroxide (AAP) is primarily used as a catalyst in the production of various polymers, including resins, vinyl, polyolefins, and silicones. It's also a curing agent for unsaturated polyester resins, particularly in room temperature applications with a cobalt accelerator or at higher temperatures.

    Chemical Name: Acetylacetone peroxide

Shape: Acetylacetone peroxide is generally found as a liquid, sometimes mixed with a solvent or as a paste.

    Other names:

2.4-Pentanedione peroxide. Other names or synonyms include Percure A, Trigonox 40. Trigonox 44B, Lupersol 224. Luperox 224. and Chaloxyd AAP-NA 1

    Molecular Formula: C10H14O6

    Molecular Weight: 242.23

    CAS Number: 37187-22-7

    Application:

Acetyl acetone peroxide (AAP) is primarily used as a catalyst in the production of various polymers, including resins, vinyl, polyolefins, and silicones. It's also a curing agent for unsaturated polyester resins, particularly in room temperature applications with a cobalt accelerator or at higher temperatures. Additionally, AAP finds use in adhesives, sealants, coatings, and paints to enhance their strength and resistance through cross-linking.

    Packing:

commonly packaged in 30-liter HDPE cans

    Storage:

Acetylacetone peroxide should be stored in tightly closed containers, in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, away from heat, sparks, flames, and direct sunlight. It's crucial to avoid contamination and keep it separate from incompatible materials like reducing agents, acids, and alkalis. Recommended storage temperature is typically between 2°C and 8°C, but some sources suggest a range of -5°C to 25°C.
